Announcement: Website Updated

Welcome to the new forevermore.net. After designing a new website for
MythTV, I figured that I should probably
put some effort into my own site. The new website is based on the same
framework I built for MythTV, minus a lot of the cool graphical stuff that I
don't really need here.

Feel free to poke around -- I hope the new navigation setup will be a little
friendlier to use.

My wife recently decided to take up the persona of "the other tiger" in a blog
about her writing endeavors, but it turned into a
food blog instead. I'm sure I'll
eventually start posting about some of my own cooking/baking experiments, too.
Especially once the rest of my spherification chemicals show up.

After failing to find the information I needed for a recent project at work, I decided to
save other people the pain, and have written what I hope is a good turorial on
using the Google Maps API to zoom photographs. As far as I know,
this is the first time these techniques have been publicly explained/used with the Maps API,
so I hope that someone else will find them useful.

Well, it's official. I gave notice on Monday, and will be leaving
Silicon Mechanics at the end of
November. I will start my new job as a Senior Developer at
iFLOOR.com a few days later. It's been a great 5
years at SiMech, but the long commute over the last year has taken its toll and
I am looking forward to my new short commute to iFLOOR. This doesn't mean that
you shouldn't still look to SiMech for all of your server needs -- I'm leaving
behind a great team of developers, and SiMech will always be an excellent (and
MythTV/FOSS-friendly) source of great server hardware.

since it's pretty cool to see all of the different companies/industries that
I'm tied to. If you're interested in linking up, just hope on over to
